Those are many weaknesses in Malaysian Education System. Malaysian education lacks a good system for student support. It is results in the form of standard set by Education Department.
Memorizing is the way to go. In example, lecturers who is only set questions that merely require memorisation of facts from a given course book or their notes. What we need to do is to read and memorise, memorise, memorise. And when we fail to write out answers that contain in the notes, although the idea is basically the same, it will consider wrong. It does not train students to think, analyze and make their own conclusion.
It is differ with education scheme in Singapore. They more teach the ways how to analyze, brain-storm and even actively encourage students to ask more questions. Even through the question seem silly and stupid, but it does trigger another point of view, thoughts and new ideas on the subject teach.
Today, many of student like to further studies in overseas. It is because it has a better education and qualification than us. Furthermore, overseas student can get a better job than with our student. It express a quality student and able to do the work better.
The other problem with student in Malaysia is students do not have the basic competency in English. I can make our student our student less confident and unable to speak in this English language. So, it can’t make them have a bright career in future.
That why, I think that our examination results obviously does not reflect our students abilities. One thing that I would like to highlight here is, our education system need to change, so that, our country can express the best and quality student.
